So I got the 16500 code, and replaced the G62 coolant sensor and cleared the code. The code

came back within 100 miles. I replaced the coolant sensor again, cleared the code again, and the same thing happened again.

What else can possibly be wrong here? Wiring harne$$?

I had a prob with my thermostat...

It went on for 3 years I think till I got around to fixing the timing belt! Basically, I got a code that the engine was running cold even after extended driving. It only happened in the winter/cold days. IT went away with the thermostat replacement. What happened I THINK is that the thermostat stuck OPEN (id heard of it overheating cars by sticking closed), so the car was cooling itself with maximum efficiency all the time, even when its really cold out. Either that, or the thermo gave bad numbers, and told the engine to run cold all the time. Either way, its worth investigating in your case..
