Default And you get some Turb's, LOL :)

No the A/C system on our cars is charged from a high pressure port only. If you look on your car there should be only one port you can connect the hoses to. On most cars they have two, but you know Audi (nothing is ever easy). In order to charge it you need a special machine.

Best of luck.

You a/c system was designed to be charged by only utilizing the high-side port. Using a special machine, which completly services your a/c system, without the engine running. Second problem, your a/c system requires a very specific amount of freon(134). Otherwise you risk blowing your fragile/paper-thin evaporator tucked up under your dash. ;O)

Default There are just so many ways that can go wrong

not to mention the total back yard mechanic routine. First your venting an extremely dangerous gas into the environment. One principle characteristic of R-134A is that it eat's oxygen, if you take a direct inhale of the gas it will suck all the oxygen directly out of your lungs and can cause permanent damage. Second putting a blow dryer / heat gun to a small tank of refrigerant is also not a good idea, you could rupture the tank or fry the vavle right open which would lead to your a/c system rupturing and now you have the possibility of venting .lbs of refrigerant into the atmosphere, and keep in mind all this time it is sucking the oxygen out of the room and your lungs.
