Default Im assuming that you are familiar with the process for the IM (upper plenum) polish.....

Im basically doing the same w/the v- covers. If not, then basically:
after removing, I start (by hand) sanding with a very rough grit sand paper. I used 40 and 60 to start- and it took awhile to just remove the finish that audi had on them origionally. Its a pita to do around/inside the rings, however I took my time and also used a dremel set at a very low speed with a grinding bit to do the tight spots. then over those spots again with sand paper to remove marks made by dremel. I thoroughly sand the entire cover using finer and finer grits (40,60,80,100,150,200, and so on) Im guessing you could get away with less work but I am kinda ****. I am following up the sanding process with many applications of MOTHERS...rub on rub off rub on rub off, etc.

I havent decided yet, but i am gussing once back on the car they will want to oxidize so I am probably going to have to put some kind of coat an them to prvent this from occuring. Thats about it!

Default When I did mine I had them media blasted and started with 120 grit, moving up to...

600 but since I had a plating company polish them I didn't go too fine (their wheels start at 500 grit.)
Here's the result:

I highly recommend having them clear powdercoated to keep their shine. Otherwise you'll be polishing them once a month.

The spray ceramic high-temp Duplicolor tends to yellow. Go powdercoat.
