Default Watched a snub mount go into a 93 90 in 15 minutes

Yeah, it was on a rack and the under engine cover was already off, cause we were changing the oil.

Tech removed two bolts holding the mount male part to the cross bar. Removed 3 hex bolts on female part. both parts and original snub dropped into hand. He pulled original snub out, pushed Mance's in and bolted parts back on.
Done. No bumber removal etc.

Default Took me about that long on mine. :)

I think they are harder to install on A4s. I love the difference that one mod made.

Craig, our next LA trip keeps getting pushed back due to work - but it's been worth it and keeps getting better. Next week I head out to the Bonneville Salt Flats for a month to make a motorcycle racing movie with Anthony Hopkins. We hope to make it down your way in November, we really need to get to the ocean sometime soon. Do you get out on the water at that time of the year?

Default Sailboat racing is pretty much over by mid November...

But, going for a sail is possible any old time. Major impediment is that winter winds tend to be too little or too much and rainy.

Let me know. If I'm in town we can do whatever.

Default This is all your fault, you know...

If you hadn't posted the 5w40 oil recommendations and the suggestion that a thirst for oil was bad for a kitty I would not have gone for the tech visit.

By the way, we found leaks on the valve covers ... The gaskets get changed next week.

Default B4 is an infinately easier/faster install than a B5 chassis car. I can do a B4 in 1/3 that time

and a B5 in 8x that time.

Default I know

I hope new valve cover gaskets will reduce your oil consumption. Not that an external leak will harm the kitties. ;-)

Default Why can't I fit my ratchet up there to take out the three allen head bolts?

I can see how easy it is to remove/install the snub, but I can't seem to find the tools to fit! What is everyone else using?

Default Coming out he used a ratchet with hex key- It got stuck

and he pried it off with BFSD (Screw driver). Going back in, he used a regular hex key. Took a few extra seconds.
