what size is the bolt to remove the steering wheel on a 97 A4 4 spoke??

what size is the bolt to remove the steering wheel on a 97 A4 4 spoke??
I've read some tech write ups saying that it is 15/16" and I've read other that say 24mm. I'm sure its pretty close, but since its on with loctite and i'm gonna have to force this thing off.. what is the correct size??

It's from Germany, so...
...24mm would be my guess, knowing what I do about Germany and the metric system.
