I have a pre-owned 2012 Audi A4 quatttro which I purchased in 2016. I am now having major issues with the oil. I recently had an oil change and after about 1k miles of driving my oil light comes on. I add 1 qt of oil as directed and drive another 200 miles and it comes on again. Again, I add oil. Then I noticed that the car is driving in 1 gear while driving despite being in D. Could this be related to the oil issue? After 3 complete oil changes, the light has come on at 1k or less miles of driving.

When the issue started I only had 59,000 on the car. It now has 67,000 on it. Audi is telling me that is failed the oil consumption tests and I now have to pay $8,000 to fix an issue (basciallly rebuilding the engine) to have it fixed, a problem that they are aware of! BS! I'm getting rid of it and will never buy another Audi again! My son is having the same issue with his 2009 A6. I know of other Audi sedan owners who have had the same problem. If they were aware of it, why didn't they do a recall?
