Default 6-speed problems

So I recently bought a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T 6-Speed Manual. I was practicing my fast shifting down an empty road and slammed it from 3rd to forth a little too hard. The shifter went past the normal stop point so that it was pointed toward the rear of the car more than normal. I can still shift and drive but the lever can be pushed back and forth past the normal stop points and shifts are rough, sometimes it does not want to go into gear. I wanted to see if anyone might know what broke/came loose before I take it apart? any insight is appreciated.
