Intake carbon cleaning for 2006 A3
Hello all,
I have 245,000 miles on my 2006 A3 with 2.0 FSI.
Probably quite a lot of carbon buildup on the intake.
I want to get that crud blasted off with media such as sand or baking soda.
Audi dealers offer a cleaning that uses some kind of chemical. Something about that.... I just don't trust.
Please educate me if I'm off-base with that suspicion.
But I would like to get my 2.0 FSI "blasted" -- can anybody recommend a place that does this? I live in the mid-Atlantic region: NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA
Thank you!

Hey there the chemical they use is calleed chem tool which is a chemical that cleans up carbon really good. I am a Audi technician and work at a dealership. I us chem tool on every intake valve cleaning that I do and never have any issue. But for blasting I would not recommend using sand or baking soda, I would recommend using a walnut blaster instead. Some dealerships use walnut blaster some don't.

Thanks very much for your reply! I'm curious why the walnuts are better than sand or baking soda? I know one place that also used salt. Thanks!
