Default Audi newbie - need help!

Hello everyone. I have been reading up on audiworld before I made the decision to go with a 04 audi a6 2.7t. I bought it CPO with 29k about 3 months ago and may be having a problem. I am getting 12 miles per gallon doing pure city driving. I do not have a lead foot nor do I live near the autobahn! Took it to the dealer, and they said an emission valve was sticking and it was replaced (w2 valve).

Got an oil change (5w-40 synthetic pentosin) with filter (Mann) and air filter (oem) change. Still getting the same mileage. Couple of mornings ago when I started up the car getting a weird smell on the inside (smells like oil). Friend of mines say I may have a gas leak. I love the car but I don't like guessing what may be wrong with it. Maybe you experts out there can help?

I still am under the original warranty until 03/08. I saw another posting with someone who was having similar trouble and the dealer wouldn't touch the car without codes. I checked the original service and there was nothing major. All service was done on time. That was my next thing to do, however I am in ny and the next dealer would be in nj.

post in the NY/NJ forum and see if someone will use their VAGCOM and scan your codes.

Question, If the check engine light isn't on, will the VAGCOM still show problems with the car?

Ok I filled up the tank this morning. I am now getting 10.2 miles per gallon according to my calculation! I noticed that when I started the car, I smelled the fuel that was just pumped in the cabin. Any ideas? I'm guessing a fuel leak. Inspected outside of car but I see no signs of leakage. Also, does the dealer use the VAGCOM?

Default if you don't mind, use the subject line for shorter responses.

the dealer uses something similar to VAGCOM, actually.

you might want to search the forum archives for gas smell or leak

probably due to you running pig rich, if I had to guess

pig rich is a technical term for your gas mileage being bad.
