How to increase horsepower on 2004 A6 2.7T (86,000 miles)
First time poster to this site. Looks great!!! I was wondering if anyone might have an idea or two of how Ican increase (or at least optimize) the horsepower on my A6 2.7T. I bought it used last year and the car seems to choose when it wants to show me her power or if she decides to drive sluggish.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/advice.

suggestions
1. search this website (particularly the A6, S4, and 2.7t forums) for the following words: maintenance, timing belt (tb), throttle body boot (tbb), chip, diverter valves, turbos, intercoolers, exhaust
2. report back when you're done reading.
3. I expect to hear back from you no earlier than a year from now. Yes, it'll take that long, but you'll be smarter and wiser for it. Trust me.

Chip Upgrade
I just flashed my 03 A6 2.7T with REVO Stage 1 Software. I gained 57.5 horses and 100ft/lb torque. Really impressive performance after the upgrade. Most likely,it is going to cost you $500 - $600. The company has great products and perfect customer service.<ul><li><a href="http://www.revotechnik.com">http://www.revotechnik.com</a</li></ul>

I've a bad Case of information overload...upgrading to Bi-Xeon for instance.
One priority is to upgrade my halogen low beams to biXeon. Alot of conflicting info, and whats up with all those ricers taking our Xeon projectors?
Also looking for a versatile enging chip, economy, stock, and performance modes, wouldn't that be cool?

MTM chip
MTM is a German Company that was founded by Audi engineers and they make various tuning products for VW AG. The Stage-one ECU reprogram costs $550, and adds 60hp, 97lbs/ft of torque. The stages go up to stage-five, and add exhaust, intakes, injectors, K04 turbos. But for $550 you get an excellent power increase while not sacrificing any of the smoothness and drivability of the A6. My local audi shop has this link to showcase all of the choices for your car. http://www.ringtecatlanta.com/mtm7.htm Many people have disagreed, but I also like the small boost in hp(+4%) from the K&N filter. Some are skeptical of the air quality passed into A/C HVAC, but the quality of the filters have incresed over the years, and the stock filter in the 2.7t is a much smaller, and cheaper feeling/looking filter.

just e-mail me
I'll answer your questions
ricers want to look like us - what can I say?
there are several companies that make a switchable chip, ranging from APR to GIAC to ASP

also, do you have a before/after dyno of the K&N air filter increase?
