Default Would 180k miles on original KO3's make you buy one?

Here are the tricks though:
1) Keep the car bone stock,
2) Proper warm-ups and cool downs,
3) Right maintnance,
4) Synthetic Oils Only,
5) Only 93 Octane Gasoline,
6) No crazy driving,
7) Highway/Expressway driving instead of stop and go in the city,
8) Lots of luck.

142K miles and still strong. Well cared for, good oil and proper warm-cooled cycles.

^^ FYI, these are pretty hard to adhere to with the 2.7T, heh.

8) Lots of luck.
^^ Helps with everything in life!

I've got 185,000 KM on mine. I only recently purchased it, but didn't see any indication in dealer or po records that they've been replaced. Checked the boost using VAG-COM log, comparing requested pressure to actual, and it's spot on. No weird noised from them either. Knock on wood!

Newbie question, when you say let it cool down does this apply only after hard driving/track or do you do this after a regular commute? What about after a long road trip at speeds of 70-80 mph?

Finally, what's the best way to cool down a 2.7t?

always, every time, no matter what

get a cooler after-run thermo temp switch and a turbo timer to help out

First of all, if you drive easy, nothing past 3k rpm, no need to cool down. There is a pump that kicks in after the car is shut off to cool down the turbines. I however, still let the car run for like a minute or two before shutting it off. I kind of got used to doing that. Sometimes less than a minute. But always more than 15 seconds. I think that sort of helps the motor, these cars run on high temps. Get the Turbo Timer if you are concearned. It all depends on how you drive. If you drive like me, it might not be necessary.

My K03's are on 120k Miles.
Car is chipped with Decat and full exhaust system.
Slight turbo noise but i think it's as a result of the free flowing exhaust system.
