Default Leak in the turbo oil feed line - do I need to fix it ASAP?

Today I spotted a leak that seems to be located at the turbo oil feed line connection, ref. the attached picture.

Is this sweathing/leak a common problem for our 2.7t engines and could it be that it is a symptom that indicates that something is wrong with the turbo? (I really hope not!)

Should I have the oil feed connection changed as soon as possible, and would the job qualify as a DIY task?

All the best
Harald

Default Hey chill, that's not an turbo oil line.

Leak is probably from up top. The center section is where the oil is and from your pic that is dry.

Default 2nd. start by checking your rear cam seals over that particular turbo and also your valve cover

gasket.

...and your cam adjuster/tensioner seal if that's the right side (bank 1).

Default You are right all of you - or should I rather say you are all right!?

there is some sweating back at the tensioner seal so I guess that is what it is then.... I will watch this in the months to follow. Hope it is so small that I can live with it as the DIY procedure for changing this seal seems to require a special tool....

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction!

Default - passenger side, and all the DIY pages I have found talks about

a special tool needed to keep tension on the cam chain while removing the cam tensioner gaskets. Audi tool part number 3366, ref.:

http://www.blauparts.com/audi/audi_valve_cover_gasket/audi_valve_cover_gasket_kit.shtml

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/616641.phtml

Are you suggesting that the job can be done without this tool?

Default oh no, you DEFINITELY need the special tool.

however, due to recent experience, I would HIGHLY suggest taking this to an independent mechanic and have them do it for you.
TRUST me.

I only kept the 96 2.8 for 3 months then sold it to my buddy. I now have the 2.7t A6. Just loving it. I mean HER
