PSA: GIAC Tip users, make sure & check your boost!
Apparently, some tip 2.7t's don't accept the flash file and become a hybrid version. The car will be faster, but only run 9psi.
There is a new file from GIAC that fixes it, so check your boost! I found out about it at a dyno day, my STG2+ only did 212hp!
Now after the new flash file it was over 250hp!

Re: It has nothing to do with the Tip slowing the car down, it's GIACs TIP ECU program
I have the APR 93 oct software and was going to get the GIAC Tip Chip from jeremy at Matrix
Should I be concerned?
Can yuo give us more details?
Thanks

It's the GIAC ECU program for the TIP cars, it's not the TIP causing the problem
it's just the GIAC ECU file for the TIP cars.
The TIP, TCU, is a CHIP, not a flash. IT will have nothing to do with boost.
My car did totally take to the FLASH in the ECU from the GIAC ECU program for the TIP S4's. So while it was "chipped" it would only boost to 9psi, and change throttle response. But on the dyno it has stockish numbers.

It was only a brief glitch with the 551M ECU'd cars. Chipped around 5/17/06.
Contact your local GIAC dealer or us if you have any questions. If you are seeing 1-1.2 bar then you have no issues.
