Default Starting the 2.7T allroad

I have an '05 allroad, I traded an identical '02..I don't know why. The '05 sometimes (3 out of 4 times) turns over 4 seconds before it lights off in a puff of black smoke and smell of raw fuel from the taipipes, and then barely, it's hard to tell that the engine caught, it kinda of burbles away for a second or three and then settles in. The car runs very well after that..people standing close-by will bring this to my attention. The dealer has replaced a temperature sensor, and a spark-plug and igniton coil to #3 cylinder that will miss from time to time. I burn only Shell V-Power, the car has 24,000 highway miles.
Appreciate any suggestions to make me sound convincing to the dealer. Thanks.

Default oxygen sensors..? and an ECU flaw..

There was a recall on the 03/04 allroad and this was the symptom of those who had the actual problem. The ECU needed a reflash to correct it. Thise that had it, had the black smoke as the visible symptom.

Your Oxy sensors may be shot.. You can allso checkk for other opinion on the allroad forum.. we are a nice bunch of guys.

Default Re: oxygen sensors..? and an ECU flaw..

Thanks Paulroad, I think you guys must be alright..certainly you are knowledgeable. When I read about custom intake manifolds and different turbos...ouldn't know a k04 if I found two in my cornflakes.
The car is going into the dealer tomorrow again (4th trip) which is a pain because its 175 Km west of here. I've copied your comments. I'll leave it with them this time and rent a Corolla..if that's not painful enough. Let you know.

Default If you have someone close by with a VAG then you could pull out some supportive data

Data blocks like Air mass, load and a few dozen of other helpful hints could lead to the right solution.
The nice thing about the VAG is that you can transfer everything into EXCEL format and do the math.
But like Paul said, this flaw was common on some 03/04 allroads.
Good Luck and keep us posted ;-)
