dipstick reading (very) high. what the deuce?
is there anything other than way too much oil in the car that would make the dipstick read super high?
would whatever is causing that also blow a cam seal? the cam seal is blown again after being replaced twice.
i just bought this car, and the previous owner was apparently an idiot.
it is definitely possible there is just a ton of oil in there, i havn't changed it yet (waiting until my oil leaks were fixed).

well, i don't mean 'blow out' literally.. it's about 3/4" above the top orange guide.
WAY too much if you ask me, but is it enough to ummm... make a seal leak?

here's the story on that. and some unanswered questions.
-i found that there was NO pcv hose on the car. i found little bits of it here and there, but the PO had never replaced it. the car ran fine.
i ordered and installed a new one. the car still ran fine, but not better than before. this i found interesting because wouldn't the missing hose have meant a giant vacuum leak?
-after that i took off the suction pump. i can blow air through all three inlet/outlets. nothing seems to be valving. air just comes out of the other two ends all the time. i'm quite sure that this is not how this is supposed to work. could that be stopping the pcv valve from opening (maybe?)? in any case, it's not clogged.
-i checked the green check valve... it was clogged. i cleaned it out with carb cleaner and now it works as it should... one way.
is there any other part to this system i should be checking?
thanks for your help.

I'd make sure the valve covers aren't plugged up.
Try running it for a while and pulling the dipstick while it continues to run. See if there is pressure. Very suspicious that the system was all hacked up. On my cars, I replace the suction pump and the check valve with the timing belt.
