First gear noise
Im a brand new Audi owner (1998 A4 2.8 30 valve), and ASE certified Tech. Im having a noise in only first gear (manual trans) and only under acceleration.
Is this common? Any Ideas?

If it's clicking, it's a chipped tooth in the first gear. It happens sometimes. Check the B5 forum for more info, and edit your post so it's not off topic; you'll get more replies that way.
It's basically just going to annoy you until you get a new (used) tranny. If you want to do that it's up to you, or you could just put up with it. It won't leave you stranded.
