Coil pack hassles.. argh
I had my coil packs replaced a couple years ago under warranty. Now I'm no longer covered by warranty (2005 B6 S4).
A few weeks ago, I got that telltale shake and flashing CEL. Stopped the car, towed it to my shop. Code was for Cylinder 5 misfire. Replaced the coil pack on cyl 5 and it was back to its normal self, running fine ... until today, now I've got the shake and flashing CEL again. Feels exactly like it did before... like it's another coil..
But is it really that likely that another coil would fail within such a short time?
I knew I should have just replaced all 8 when he had it in the shop.
Anything else I should check while we're replacing the other 7 coil packs next week?
Thanks guys
[By the way, I called Audi a couple weeks ago to see if this still would qualify under the recall, but they told me that since they had already replaced all 8 coil packs with the 'newest' version, they wouldn't do it again]
