Default ECU

Here is the problem. I have a 87 4000 that 2Bennett has done a V8 conversion on for me. The 4.2 V8 is out of a 97 A8. Having come out of a car with a automatic an into one with a manual shift the OBD is throwing a transmission speed code. So dose anyone know where I might find an ECU for a 97 4.2 with a manual tranny?

Thanks, Marshall

I just went into the shop today and Andrew said that he will get me the code number. It's an engine speed code that is being thrown because there is no pick up at the transmission.

Default It has to be a transmission speed sensor code.

The car wouldn't even start with engine speed sensor code.

You are right I think it is a transmission speed sensor code. I will be back in the shop tomorrow and ask them what the code number is.

Default That is the wheel speed sensor located by the driver's side output flange.

This is an automatic tranny, but the stick shift has it on the same location. Is your speedometer works?

I went to the shop the other day and had a talk with Andrew. He said that they will try and get a signal from the back of the speedo. He did not know if it's looking for a sign wave or a pulse.
