Default Oil Leak

in a 2004 Allroad 4.2 with 55K miles. The dealership told me that the timing chain cover needs to be replaced. Since they quoted 27 hours to complete the job and I don't get a good feeling from them, I got a second opinion. The 2nd opinion stated that it looks like the valve cover gasket is leaking oil onto the starter, but they also found alot of oil by the flywheel which they said could be the rear main seal leaking. Is the timing chain cover the same thing as a rear main seal? Could the valve cover gasket be the cause of the oil by the flywheel? Is this common? Any help is appreciated!

Default Im sure its possible that the valve cover could be leaking from the rear near the firewall

Im sure doing the valve cover gasket first would be cheaper, but will it fix it? If not youre already in the hole for that repair plus another 2700 for the tensioner seal. Its really up to you.
The timing chain seal is different from the rear main seal. The rear main seal is the seal around the end of the crankshaft where it sticks through the block to attach the flywheel to. Good luck
