upgrade camshafts for 4.2 v8 (5v engines) , also RS6...
Does anyone have interesst in having upgraded camshafts made for these engines?
I believe that combined with an upgrade exhaust system it could increase power on these pretty much, as the OEM camshafts are made for low-end and smooth engine more than for power.
This is for the RS6 engine also...

Cost VS gain? NO...besides they're available from Schrick
Only as a LAST AND FINAL UPGRADE should someone replace the cams...I over-revd my 4.2 (see my posts in this forum) I had a chip, DP, and a custom exhaust (I kept OEM components but I replaced the piping and added a x-pipe) when the heads were off I ported and polished the heads, this is WHERE ALL THE POTENTIAL IS!! (check the pics in my profile) I installed RS6 exhaust valves (they're lighter, intakes are the same for both engines) Next will be a lighter clutch, lighter suspension, brakes, lighter wheels, i have a lighter battery but need a custom bracket. After that maybe a Strat center&rear diffs, custom carbon fiber driveshafts, then i'll replace the HEAVY seats, after that i'll strip the interior, add NOS THEN FINALLY i'd then add those cams.
Of course this is just my opinion and i'm sure that after you add the removal and installation costs, custom software then tuning costs WITH dyno costs etc...in the end for a gain of 10-15hp you could have gained those numbers just by dropping weight.

I disagree with cams being the last upgrade, but i'm not here to bicker with anyone so I will leave it at that.
what cams are avaliable for the 4.2?

Price: $3,589.00
Competition Camshaft Set B6 S4
A 60 horsepower gain, Schrick camshafts boost mid-high end power for that extra motivation at higher rpm. Low-end torque is not seriously affected due to the S4's valve timing. This higher profile cam set works extremely well with an upgraded intake and exhaust. This kit includes the Schrick cams, Bosch balanced 24lb fuel injectors (for more fuel at higher rpm), and an ECM flash-calibrated to this package.<ul><li><a href="http://www.motodyne.com/frames/audi_s4-v8.html">http://www.motodyne.com/frames/audi_s4-v8.html</a</li></ul>

yeah...and no dynosheet for the cams
BUT on their website Motodyne refers to the audiworld dyno event for their supercharger....that made less HP than stock. GREEEEEAT
"As a surprise to many, Motodyne's elusive supercharged S4 made it to the event. We knew before the car was strapped onto the dyno that it was not running correctly. We only did one pull on dyno as air/fuel ratios were very lean and we were concerned about causing damage to the engine. In the end, the supercharged car returned numbers less than our stock vehicle."<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/news/05/b6dynoawe/content.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/news/05/b6dynoawe/content.shtml</a</li></ul>
