Default Hot Dang, Deep Wells -- Spark Plug Socket Recommendation...

Yikes, it's my first plug change on the allroad and I suspect this is no different on the A4 and all the other 2.0L TFSI engines. The plug wells are 150mm deep!

Plug removal was no problem with a conventional 5/8 plug socket and an extension, but installation didn't go well at all -- no matter how lightly I set the plug in the boot, just enough to get the threads started, the extension would pull out before the boot would let go of the plug, leaving the socket stuck in the well.

I visited ECS Tuning and their "extended" plug socket was only 6" long (150mm) and the reviews there said a 2" extension was necessary.

So I dug around Amazon and found this gem: a 10" long, magnetic ring socket (no rubber boot), that gives me a knurled surface to grip on to when I'm pulling it out. I found it a few places listed at under $20, but I paid the Amazon premium for next day delivery:

CTA Tools 2380 10" Long 5/8" Spark Plug Socket

Oh, Amazon shows this tool with a polished finish but the one I received has the flat finish as shown below from the CTA website. That's too bad because the polished is easier to wipe down, but it turns the plug just the same.
