Default Buying advice?

Looking to possibly get into a new B9 Allroad. Heading to the dealer for a test drive tomorrow, they only have one in stock and mentioned a 4-month lead time to order. They seem to be limited in availability? I owned a 2000 A6 2.7T for many years and am currently driving a 2013 Subaru Outback that is getting up there in mileage. I miss driving an Audi and have been longing to get back into one since I traded in my A6.

If anyone has financed one through Audi Financial lately, do you care to share what they gave you for a rate? I would most likely use my credit union to finance it, unless Audi is offering 0% or some other worthwhile incentive.

Overall, are the owners here happy with their B8 or B9 Allroad? Any know reliability issues I should be aware of? Did anyone else compare it to the Volvo V60 XC when buying?

Supposedly Audi is planning to release a new model every 90 seconds in 2018 or something crazy like that so should I hold out for any updated model?

You don't have to search very far in this forum to find countless threads of happy, err, thrilled drivers of the B9. Doubtful much will change with the B9 AR next year.

People do seem pretty happy with their Allroads, and issues reported all seem minor and fairly randomly spread out, with no significant concentration on any specific issue.

You probably won't find many comparisons to the Volvo V60 XC, because the Volvo simply isn't competitive in this space; it's a 2014 facelift of a 2011 platform, and very much looks its age, especially inside. A new V60 is due out in 2018, at which point it will likely be an interesting comparison. For now, the Mercedes C-class wagon and the BMW 3-series wagon are probably the closest competitors, although the BMW is getting a bit long in the tooth itself and is also due for a refresh soon.

The car is beautiful and was redesigned for 2017 so now is a great time to buy. I looked at inventory all over the western US over the summer and it seemed to vary widely. The most Allroads I could find at any one dealer was in the low teens but some were already spoken for. I ended up ordering and it took 112 days from deposit to delivery.

From order to delivery, my wait was about the same. I looked at both the BMW and Volvo V60 T6. The BMW was definitely a bit dated, though I liked the stance. The Volvo was so much smaller, and coming from a VW Sportwagen, it was just too much loss of utility for me. I did like the seats and engine. I am very happy with my choice of the allroad. I get compliments quite often from people who are not wagon fans. It's modern, a good performer, and comfortable.

the allroad out now is the updated one - you will not see another update for years down the road

There is no 0% financing - not something Audi does at the present time, because inventory controls are kept very tight, unlike some other brands, and the allroad is a niche vehicle (and unique in the Audi portfolio from a customer loyalty standpoint)

But AFS is not your only financing tool - a dealer will have relationships with outside banks, and often, that might include your chosen credit union too - if you get to that point in a deal, ask them, doesn't hurt

Absolutely awesome car - use it well!
