Is there any way to disable this switch? Does it disable if someone breaks into the vehicle?

If you lock yourself in the car, you will notice it disables the rear hatch button when the vehicle is locked.

Why else would you want it disabled?

If someone breaks the window and unlocks the car.

If the car is locked, and in some way opened from inside, the alarm will go off... The hatch switch will still be disabled.

On top of that, there is a barometric pressure sensor in the car that will set the alarm off in the event of a broken window. (in theory)
