Virtual Cockpit: Can you move the speedometer to the left side?
Every car I've ever driven has had the speedometer on the left side, and the engine gauge on the right side of the dasboard. I test drove an Audi A4 today with a digital cockpit, but these were flipped and I couldn't find a way to change it. Is there no way to have the speedometer show up on the left side?

The VW group (except for Porsche) puts the speedometer on the right. Not entirely sure what the rationale is behind putting it left or right, but yes BMW, Mercedes and Porsche put it on the left at least on most of their models. It's similar to how VW's gear selectors need to be pushed forward to upshift and pulled back to downshift, while in all race cars, BMW and others you pull it back to upshift and push to downshift. Most consider the latter the proper way due to the direction your body moves when accelerating and decelerating.
Quite honestly, for me the speedometer is a waste of space, regardless on which side it is. I want the rev counter and current gear in the center and all I need is a digital speed readout as can be configured in the S and RS models. Other performance brands with digital instrument clusters have the same option, but I haven't seen the ability to switch left/right with the traditional side-by-side gauges.
