Default '03 A4 w/20k miles sounds like diesel engine...?

Anyone experience their engine sounding like a diesel engine upon start up and sometimes when idling? This embarassing sound started around 10k. Doesn't seem to affect performance/power much.

Not sure what to do. Dealer can't help... go figure!

Please help.

Default Secondary Air Injection Valve is leaking...get thyself to a dealer.

It'll drive okay, but at some point it will probably get bad enough to throw a check engine light (mine did...but I drove for 2 months with the bad sec air inj valve).
