Same transmission casing
except for the fact that the 2.8 case doesn't have the drop out for the 1.8 oilpan.
Sucks to have to drop your tranny to fix your oilpan
but then who would be dumb enough to crack an oilpan anyway.

Ugh. I hope I never crack an oil pan. I already mashed up my W8 Belly Pan.
< 1 year old too.
Went to do my oil change and it was bashed up at the rear mounts. Oh well. Good thing I saved the old stock one.
