1996 Aud A4?
I bought an Audi A4 V6 a couple of months ago. I just wanted to make sure my purchase doesn't go to waste. Is this car worth it to keep for like 5 years. Performance wise, I think its fine. 172hp is enough plus I am sure I can find a way to increase that to 190hp soon.
Is there any mods I can do to make the car at least 190hp and more torque at lower rpm's? Money is an issue. Plus is the car worth the mod if it is that old. It runs great even with 200,000 miles on it. Plus the previous owner put $40,000 worth of service into it before she traded it in.

There is no easy path to more horsepower with the 12 valve.
No chips, or superchargers.
If you are ambitious you can rework the intake , throttle body and MAF to get more . The exhaust and air filter are fairly efficient. However it is possible to modify the air box and intake ducting to flow better.
None of this is exactly cheap unless you have access to machine tools.

Yep.
They are a good reliable car. I had one for over 10 years. Great freeway cruiser.
The best $$'s I spent were on suspension and wheels. I found a sports suspension and sway bar and added 17 inch rims from an S4.
That and replacing the stock steering wheel with the sports version were the best value for money.
