Someone please help me! I'm contemplating purchasing an A4 1.8T Quattro, 5-speed, with around 40K miles and am curious what kind of maintenance issues the car will encounter the next 50-100K miles. Are the maintenance costs higher than most cars? What are some of the things I should look for? Please respond to steel73@hotmail.com
Thank you in advance to everyone that replies.

bought the car with about 50k miles. had it for about a year and 4 months or so. it's got 67k now.
in this time (all under warranty,) the following has broken:
transmission. in the shop about 5 times before it got replaced.
turbo: techs refused to acknowledge it was blown, in the shop 3 times for this. broken wastgate rod, this is a known issue.
transmission ecu + engine ecus both evidently failed, had to have both of those replaced
timing belt tensioner broke about a month ago.
bad serpentine belt tensioner (but this is common)
now, it's broken again, power steering makes a mega funky creaking noise during any motion of the steering wheel, and the check engine light is on.
thinking about leasing a new a4, or maybe buying a 00/01.
bleh.
