Default 2000 Audi A4 1.8T LCD Display problem

Hi, I have a 2000 Audi A4 with 56k miles on it. I purchased this car about a month ago and did not have any problems with it until now. The display on my Audi which displays the radio station, mpg, avg mph etc... Is not working. I was driving through heavy rain yesterday when I noticed that it had shut off. The weird thing is that the "Apply pressure to brake to shift gears" message still appears in the LCD display and so does "Service OK". After that though the screen goes blank, aside from the bottom which still shows which gear I am in (P N D R). Another thing is that I noticed my cigarette lighter was not working this morning either. I have a 3 in 1 extension for my lighter which is not working either. If anyone can give me any advice or what they might think it might be all comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys in advance.

Jay

Default $500-600...

It comes with a free instrument panel though.

And no, you can't just buy the screen. An EE on the S4 forum tried to dissect this thing to see if it was servicable...short answer was "no, you have no option except to replace the cluster".
