2001 a4 2.8, oil pan question

2001 audi a4 2.8

I'm about to replace the oil pan on my brothers a4...

My question is do you have to use RTV on the pan with the gasket? Or just use the gasket with NO RTV applied

Bentley doesn't talk about it. And I didn't use it on mine when I did it. No leaks. But...you can never go wrong with a little RTV if you're worried.....
