2002 A4 1.8T - Oil Consumption ?

I had to add a Pint after the first 2000 miles and another after 4000 miles. Dealer says it's normal. ?!?!?!
Anyone with similar experience?

Normal.

There is an 02 forum, but basically, while the engine is breaking in, it may consume some oil, nothing to worry about. If it's still burning oil after 10K, then I would worry. Typically around 5K it will not consume more oil. Just check and fill as needed, until consumption levels off.

normal. i added .5 qt. before my 5k service. oh, yeah, and I added some to the A6 loaner I had last

sat. through tuesday, which was at 4300 miles. The idiot light came on, so I topped it off with dino 5w-30.

As for my 1.8t, I think I topped it off around 3k with .25 qt. and then again around 4500 miles with another .25 qt. After my 5k & 10k services at the dealer and my own 15k service at home, with 3.7 qts. of Mobil 1 0w-30, then recently my 20k service at the dealer with 3.7 qts. of Mobil 1 0w-40 --- I have not had to add any oil.
