283.5 miles per tankful 1.8QTM (stock) Good or Bad?
Every time I fill up with gas I'll reset the trip mileage to Zero. The next time I fill up I'll look to see how much miles I got from that tankfull. I'll usually go down to "5 miles" left on the trip computer before I fill up. My record is 299.7 with "0 miles" on the trip computer for available miles. I could have broken 300 miles then but not by much maybe 301 or 302. Has anyone ever tried this? What mileage numbers did you get? 2.8 owners can give feedback also. Most of my driving is stop and go city driving. I didn't check the archives. If this has been covered before please forgive me.
P.S. How would I calculate my MPG? 283.5 Divided by Fuel capacity?
Tony 98.? 1.8 QTM
I've gotten over 400 miles per tank on a trip! If you figure the tank is 15.6 gal and the highway mileage should be around 29-30, than you can get around 450 miles per tank highway. City should not be lower than 300 or so if you're not driving too vigorously.
Bad
In a mixture of city/highway driving I typically average between 23 and 27 mpg and can go between about 325 and 375 miles before the warning light comes on. The one highway only tank I've driven delivered a touch over 31 mpg. Now that we're running oxy fuels, my mileage will probably go down by about 1 mpg.
Andy

Miles/Gallons when you fill it to full. Trip computer tells u, My first 600m, about 21mpg, 600-1300m about 25mph
My first 600 miles, I got REALLY bad gas mileage, which started to make me wonder. Now, I'm getting an average of 24-27 mpg, and that sounds about right to me. If you have a trip computer, don't you just switch the display over to see your average mpg?
Albert
