30v Shudder(after tranny install)
Hey,
I just finished putting a rebuilt$$$ tiptronic tranny in my girlfriends 1998 30v quattro. There is a horrible shudder in the drivetrain and lack of power in first gear from 1400 to 2200 rpm. It will occationally do it for a short period in second but not nearly as bad. The fuild level is correct and all electrical connections are plugged in. The only thing i might have done wrong is put the post-cat oxygen sensors in on the wrong sides. Would crossed oxygen sensors cause this. I have ross-tech and i'm not getting codes on either the engine or tranny. Other than that it shifts perfect.
Thanks

Re: is it possible you damaged the driveshaft?
Yeah i've checked the sub frame bolts everything is tight and looks good. It feels like power is being reduced also, not just a vibration.

Are you sure that the transmission is in 1st gear. Sound as though you might be starting in third gear which would explain the lack of power. Could your transmission be in limp mode??

On a tiptronic tranny, does up-shifting too early to achieve low rpm wear the tranny...MORE inside..
