Ok, sorry for the OT but you guys have more knowledge of stuff than any other group I can think of....
I recently bought a '94 Mazda B4000, 4.0l, 4wd, beater/winter truck. 150,000mi, tranny slips, but engine runs strong. The oil pressure gauge reads very low, and is somewhat erratic, bouncing to normal every great once in a while. I would think the engine would run poorly, or at least noisy with low oil press, but it does not. Obviously, I need to hook up another gauge to find out for sure, but how would I know if the sending unit is bad(which is what I'm thinking)? And I'm also not real sure where to tap into the block (assuming there IS a stock location) to hook up the gauge. Basically, what do I need and need to do to figure this out. Low oil pressure isn't something to overlook. Any pointers gentlemen?

not sure if it helps, but on my 30v i just had to check/ fix the connection to the sender b/c the
oil pressure light came on. Was as simple as recrimping the connector and plugging it back on.
From the fluctuation of the gauge, it is possible its a bad connection (corroded). Before i went through the trouble to hook up another gauge i'd check all the electrical connections. Make sure they are clean and are making good contact.
