Default UROTRASH has done that to his A4...

I think he put on the S4 6 speed tranny on his A4. It worked great till he blew his engine. :-P
And no the tranny did not cause his engine to blow. That was related to his engine mods.

From what others have said, it only covers 1 type of A4 tranny.

Default But that is still $5k worth of mods taken away.

Tranny would be my last mod after all hp/tq mods are done.

Default For me, it depends on the primary use of the car. For a high speed cruiser up thru the twisties the

gearing (and extra gear) are very worthwhile. If I was mostly into dragging or making maximum power I expect a trans swap wouldn't be high on the list.

Default I am really looking forward to your install process

I always wanted to have an RS2 6-speed but couldn't get all the info I needed. So please keep us informed on how it goes.

Will do. I'm keeping a 'log' and plan to do a step by step write up and parts list.

Default Yeah. If I had to pay full price for it, I wouldn't have done it.

In a quattro setup, you'll need the trans, trans mounts(left one is pure fabrication), linkage, center shaft($750 new), an extra set of 100mm flanges, and the rear dif. That's a lot of money, even if you already have some of it! My cost was $2900, and I got the trans for free. Is it cool, original, & worthwhile? Hell yes! Cheap & painfree? It IS an audi....

Keep your eyes out on ebay, and check with Dads auto for parts....I have a 6 speed extra I'd let go for $3000, otherwise it's most likely going in my next A4....
