97 A4 brake lights don't work
So my right brake light bulb died a few days ago. The info center alerted me and I checked myself. Today, I peeled back the trunk lining and unhooked/pulled out the black mounting piece with all the bulbs. Took me a minute to figure out how to get the bulb out, but I got it. Then I notice that NONE of the brake lights work anymore, including the one in the rear windshield. Check in the car and the info center no longer says "BRAKE LIGHT". Running lights and hazards work fine. Replaced the bulb with a new one and still no dice, none of the brake lights work.
Any ideas/suggestions?

The switch is beneath the steering wheel/near column... remove lower dash panel
beneath steering wheel to gain access.
Cheap/easy fix. It should be very, very easy for a garage to
do for you if you wanted.
