97 a4 left me stranded today... lots of vag codes....
My car is a 1997 a4 2.8L 12v
I was driving to work this morning and my car lost power while i was shifting. It was as if pressing on the gas pedal did nothing. The car idled fine, but it would not rev up but barely for a second then it went back to idle. The car has recently developed a small leak in the water pump, but that was going to be handled next week when i do the timing belt. Also the car hasn't felt as responsive as normal lately, and this morning was about 15-20 degrees colder than normal (40degrees)
I did manage to pull 7 Vag codes.
***17914.p1506 closed throttle position switch (CTP) switch-F60 does not
***16505.p0120 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch a circuit-G
16785.p0401 exhaust gas recirculation flow: insufficient detect
16545.p0161 O2 sensor heater circuit, bank 2-sensor 2
16540.p0156 O2 sensor circuit bank 2-sensor 2: malfunction
16542.p0158 O2 sensor circuit, bank 2-sensor 2: high voltage
16522.p0138 O2 sensor circuit bank 1-sensor 2: high voltage
I think the first 2 codes are related to my problem. I was going to clean my EGR next week when i was doing the timing belt, but the O2 sensors I am not sure about (could they be related to the EGR?)
Does anyone have any experience with these codes? I hope these aren't pricey repairs, because i am broke

Does the gas pedal feel normal? I would check that the throttle is actually opening. Also, check that connector at the bottom of the throttle body, which is unfortuetly hard to reach.

check and make sure the air intake hose is connected to the box. sometimes the clamps get loose. this happened to me and thats exactly what happed. and if you think about it... it would cause a bunch of codes related to air to show up. good luck.
