Default 98.5 Sport package

Searched the archives but couldn't find a definate answer. What exactly did the sport package include? Any possibility that some 98.5's have some aspects of the sport package and not all?

Default Re: 98.5 Sport package

I have the 98.5 w/ sport package and 1.8T. It consists in that year of the "sport" suspension (lower ride height, firmer shox/springs with red shock tubes, and IIRC a firmer anti-roll bar), three-spoke sport steering wheel, and sport seats (cloth only). If you have the leatherette seats, they are standard seats. There were no leatherette sport seats. That is the only abberation i'm aware of. These items were a package and IIRC could not be ordered separately. In later years the sport steering wheel became standard, but it only came w/ the sport package in 98.5.

Default Re: Thanx

The shifter is a Stratmosphere short shifter, converted for use in a push-down shifter (it does NOT need to be pushed down). **** is brushed aluminum UUC Rob **** 2. Red button turns my subwoofer amp on/off.

Default how bout 2000????

cause i have the sport steering wheel i am pretty sure i had the firmer sways (they are both changed out now) a pretty low stock ride height, and when i put my new suspension on the shock tubes were red. BUT!!!!!!! i have leatherette seats????? so basically what? i have the sports package with the bull**** regular seats? i hate these seats with a passion, no side support at all. SUCKS!!!

Default sounds like sport package w/ non-sport seats.

Personally i like my leatherette non-sport seats. Not nearly as bolstered as my friends sport cloth seats, but more comforatable, and bolstered better than average car seats.
