98 / 98.5 2.8 Quattro Tip questions
anyone have any problems with these models? what are the best exterior mods to do to them? is 17k a good deal at 50k miles? One guy I might buy from had his whole fuel injection system (fuel pump, etc.) replaced (under warranty) because it wouldn't start one day. should i be worried about this? THANKS!

17k sounds reasonable, best exterior mod...
for a 98/ 98.5 is upgrading to one piece projector headlights, it updates the look of the car dramatically. Fuel injection failure isnt a very big issue....common things are control arms and timing belt.

Re: 98 / 98.5 2.8 Quattro Tip questions
I have a '98 2.8 QTS and at about 37k miles the switch on the tiptronic broke. I'd shift it over to the 'manual' mode and nothing happened. It was repaired under warrenty but if it wasn't it would have cost about $400.
Have you looked into the cost of owning an Audi? For example you need to use 91 octane gas or better. Tires are not cheap either look to spend at least $135 a tire.
As fopr me I love my '98 A4! it is a great looking car as is. I wouldn't trade it for the world ! (well maybe for a 2001 S4)
