Fifth Screw

Sorry for the x-post but not getting any response in the audio forum.

My left front speaker is blown. I don't have an adapter of any kind and was looking for a direct replacement. Will the Infinity 4" Kappas work without an adapter?

I'd really prefer to just run down to a local store or Best Buy and purchase something to replace the fronts. Is this possible?

Already read through the FAQ and I'm not entirely clear on what I need here. Seems as if I still need an adapter?

I'm pretty sure you'll need an adapter. I made ones to fit my Boston Pro Series 4"

If I remember correctly I used only two of the three screw hole mounts on the Boston Acoustics
4 1/2-inch (maybe four inch....I can't recall) speakers and ended up bending one of the speaker tabs in order to make it all fit onto the Audi speaker mount. I also used adhesive sealant to make up for the omitted screw. It has worked just fine.

Will larger speakers fit up front with the adapters? Was planning on grabbing a pair of Infinity Kappa 4" speakers, but if something a bit larger will fit, I'm all for it.

you can get 5 1/4" speakes in there with the right adapters.
