99 a4 2.8q awd Rough start then goes normal
i've had my 99 Audi a4 2.8 quattro awd auto tiptronic. now for about 3-4 days bought it for a score price of 4500 safety etest with 185ks on it.
I dont have a code scanner
when ever i start the car for the first time of the day it says service inspect on cluster and you hear a high squeeling like its reving at 1.5-2 rpms then after a while it goes back to normal. it only does that on the first start rest are all normal after that.
Previous owner had it sitting for 3 weeks before i went to see it.
Im going to take it for a service engine tranny and coolent change

I'm having the exact same issue with my 98 v6. I noticed it after adding a RAM intake, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the MAF readings. If you figure something out after taking it for a service, please do post.

You can reset the 98+ service / insp cars by various twiddling of the stalks in the cluster or using a VAG.com.
It has nothing to do with any problems on the car.
