i was looking to buy a a4 1.8t but i heard you cant get real leather seats with it, only the 2.8 has the real leather seats is that true, and if so how the fake leather?

Yup, you can only get leather with the 2.8 The leatherette is great, looks and feels like leather, and a lot more durable.

Shaun, you can use an aftermarket leather co. such as Classic Soft Trim, bout $1200...link inside.

I've used them before & they did excellent work. I've called them and they have patterns for the sport seats or non sport seats. I intend to use them again once my 1.8tqms gets in.

Hmmm, why do you say leatherette is more durable? I've had four Audis with leather and it is very durable, Audi uses thick hides. Just curious.

Since leatherette is sort of like a really high quality vinyl, or that's what I was told atleast (more)

and therefore is tougher and scratches does not damage it as much as it would on leather.<p>I'm going with what I was told and may be wrong.<p>JJ

Hmm, could be because its not a natural material. I don't have any experience with it, but as I said all my leather Audi interiors (3 black, one Opal) were very durable and never got scratched or damaged. Of course, I always traded em in pretty quick and I don't have kids or dogs. :-)
