A4 Extended Warranty?

A4 Extended Warranty?
I am considering the purchase of a pre-owned 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. It's a 5 speed with 12k miles. The owner is asking $23,500 for it.
1) Is that a good deal?
2) Are there any third party companies that sell extended warranties for this car? The factory warranty has 38k left and about 3 years, but I drive approximately 30k miles per year. I would go through the factory warranty in just over one year.
Thanks in advance,
David Tepper

not sure on the deal- check edmunds etc... as far as the extended warranty there
are lots of posts on this - i would search first- IIRC there are good and bad and you HAVE TO read the fine print- seems like most of these companies will really put the screws to you if you try to claim against the extension

Re: get it audi assured if you can...
no hassle at the dealer just pay the 50 dollar deductable when you take it in, then they cover everything. I bought mine used wit that warrenty. I took it in for EVERYTHING, creaks rattles, burnt out ashtray light bulb. I didn't get flack from anyone, just gave em the $50 and picked up my fixed car.

Does that overlap or pickup when the original warrenty expires?
In other words, do you wait till theres 1 month left (or 100 miles), or go for this after 1 year of car ownership?
