A4 speaker line voltages?
I want to replace the 6" woofers on the rear deck of my 2000 A4 with the symphony system. I noticed that the factory speakers are self amplified so, obviosly, I will need to add my own amp. Does anybody know the signaling voltage of the signal that comes from the head unit? Most amps won't take more than a 3V input, some as much as 10, but I heard that the A4 uses 14 volts for signalling, which I'm having a little trouble believing. If it is that high is there a device I can use to lower the voltage?
I should point out that I'm not looking for ultimate bass here, I just want to fill out the bottom end a bit. I would prefer email in case I forget to check the forum (very busy right now).

amps take alot more than 3 volts.....
I was pushing almost 20 volts thru my amps using an aftermarket DAC... most headunits push 4v clean now... I dont know the answer to your question but i doubt seriously Audi is pushing 14 volts...to get 14 volts of clean power is very difficult and expensive. i would imagine audi is giving around 4 volts out of the deck...
Im not sure if u tapped the right wire, 14 volts would be possible for power from the battery but even that is normally around 13 factory... anything higher involves aftermarket electrical upgrades...
