A4 with sport package: Rattling sunroof when closed?

Hi,
I just bought a used 98 Audi A4 Avant. I love the car with one exception: when the sunroof is closed, there is a really irritating rattle that sounds like it might be the rubber seal on the roof rubbing against the car roof, or else maybe something in the head liner that surrounds the sunroof opening. It is definitely coming from the edge of the glass that faces the front of the car and nowhere else.

Has anyone else had this problem and have any ideas about where to start troubleshooting it? For now, of course, I just play the Bose system at a high dB! :-)

FYI, if I open the roof either part way, or in the vent mode or all the way, the noise ceases. It even ceases if I move the roof just slightly so it's barely open.

i have the same problem on my 98 A4. It is annoying, but I think it has to do with the sunroof cover. I heard you can put something between the cover and the roofliner to stop it.
