Default ABS Control Module

I have a bad ABS control module (part # 8E0-614-111) and was wondering if anyone can give me directions on how to remove this part. I want to do it myself and I did do a search but could not find directions on how to remove it.

Also has anyone used these guys to do the rebuild, I spoke to them and it's $350 for the rebuild and 48hr turnaround time.

Thanks for your help.

Default So it looks like the valve and pump relay can be replaced.

Wonder if that is causing the ABS light to remain on on my '99 Avant.

Default VAG says this

01203 - Electrical Connection between ABS and Instrument Cluster
03-10 - No Signal - Intermittent

The ABS light now comes on and stays on all the time. Use to be intermittent.

Default You can replace JUST the electronic part, leaving the hydraulic part in place..

what this does is save you from bleeding the system. AFAICT, there is NO hydraulic fluid on the electronic side, you should be able to just pop the computer off, and the replacement back on. I am in the process of trying to see if the fault is repairable, as mine is intermittent, which means looose connection as opposed to dead electrical component.

Default Which relays? The problem is IN that unit.. Did you see my post from yesterday?

There are some good discussions, and good links in that thread.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2246393.phtml</a

Default Yes I read that yesterday, but in the link below,

It states that the ABS solenoid valve relay as well as the ABS return flow relay can be replaced.. Not sure what those do though.

What is the diff in 5.0 and 5.3 system? Seems only the 5.0 system has those relays.
