ABS Module

The ABS and Brake warning indicator lights have been lighting up intermittently in my '98 A4 2.8. I've done some thread searching, and it looks like I may be shopping for an ABS module. I've looked around online to try to find the part number, but haven't had luck. Seems I can only find the ABS speed sensor.

I'm going to have a dealer diagnose this for certain, but can anyone tell me where I might find this part number, and/or a good source for the part?

Any other advice/suggestions are appreciated.

either buy a VAG-COM or find someone to read it for you. it may just be a sensor.

I got the same situation in my 99. My mechanic VAG'd it, reset the sensor

the two indicator lights started blinking about 50 miles later. MY mechanic told me to take it to the dealership as its probably the ABS module. I'd just like to know how much I'm gonna have to drop to get it replaced? Anyone have this done yet wanna let us know what to expect?

Definitely need a new control unit - where to get used part?

Well, I just got back from the dealer... As I suspected from previous threads I need a new ABS control unit. They quoted just over $1,000 for the part, and 2.5 hours of labor.

I have the part number, so now back to one of my original questions: Does anyone know a good source for this part used or new?

I'm also curious to know from those who got cost coverage for the same problem from AoA how they went about it. This is a '98 A4, but it only has 50,000 miles on it. I'm doubting I'll have any luck trying to convince them to cover some cost, but I'm still curious.
