Default Actually ABS does not improve braking performance (flame suit on)

it improves steering control. A good driver can usually stop faster w/o ABS. Generally, ABS makes braking and steering idiot proof, but i think the jury is still out as to whether it is safer. There have been instances where people steer the car into a collision under pulse conditions.

BTW, where is the fuse to disable ABS?

Default So if ABS goes out, just disconnect fuse & drive?...i would consider myself an above-avg driver

but is it really OK to drive without ABS?

& what kind of damage would that cause, if any, to the brake sys..rotors, calipers etc.??

You can just yank off the control cable on the contoller too. It has a metal tab you lift up on.

Default While I agree about the ABS under braking, it also is part of the q system's traction control.

For that reason (alone) it's worth keeping IMO.

Default You don't want to pull the fuse, you want to pull the harness connector...

that feeds power to the pump.. That way, your car doesn't beep at you, and doesn't throw the rough road fault code, which turns off missfire detection.

Default Having driven most of this winter without it, I can safely disagree with that...

I noticed absolutely NO loss of drive missing the EDL.

Once I get it back up and running, I'll find out.
