Acceleration problem:-(
Car doesnt feel smooth when accelerating..feels kinda feintly jerky. Was never dis way before.
Also did a new clutch recently, but this problem was felt before the clutch. When taking engaging first and second gear and releasing the clutch.. the car seems to bounce a little (in the engine compartment)..I think the engine mounts are shot.

I'd say engine mounts are definitely a candidate, but transmission mounts might also be a question mark.
Check for the presence of a front snub mount, they tend to crack and fall off. You can get a new stock mount for $8, or an APR reinforced snub mount for $40.
Engine mounts are about $50 each. There are two. You can tell if they are dying by checking for purple goo spatter around the engine mounts.
Your tranny mounts are likely gone if you're at high mileage. Replace them with the mounts from an Audi Allroad - $45 a pop, I think - they are firmer and last longer.

I wouldn't really say that is true... This is the B5 forum, not the B5 1.8T forum...
Granted there are more 1.8t modders on this board, but (as you showed) general tech questions are usually fielded unless they are presented in a stupid way. I agree that the 12v forum is a worthwhile alternative, but this is an appropriate venue for the question as well.
I'm not saying you neglected to address his issue, I just don't think this is really the "1.8T board".

Ah sorry about the wrong forum post, just assumed B5 was all good:-)
Anyways yeah im going to have a look for alien goo under my car tis weekend..thanks for the tip about the all-road mounts appreciate it.
