Afew questions about tech article diy clear corners
I was reading this tech article
https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext5.shtml
and was wondering;
(1) is this procedure safe for the one piece xenons? in the article it looks like it is being done on projectors? if you do it on the xenons should you also remove all bulbs and the ballast , for removing the xenon bulb what type of gloves should you use and where is a safe place to store it?
(2) in the pictures is a dremel , is it needed , i don see it mentioned in the steps
thank you<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext5.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext5.shtml</a</li></ul>

the housings for xenon and halogens
are the same thing. So either way you temorarily remove the bulbs and ballasts when you do this mod. The dremel is used with a drill bit to drill out the tabs of the orange insert. They choose to use a dremel instead of a drill because it's smaller and easier to manuever. Either is fine.

cool thanx...so about removing the xenons....
i know you need to avoid touching it with bare fingers as oils will shorten the life of the xenon if not entirely cause it to pop when turned on....can you use regular latex gloves or is there a special type , also where do you store the bulbs, im afrain to just wrap them in tissue paper....

sure...you can use latex gloves...but if you just handle the bulbs from the bases
you shoudln't have any probelms. Touching the glass part of the bulb is what you want to avoid. Get some rubbing alchohol and wipe the bulbs down before you reinstall them after completing the clear corner mod. This will take any oils and any other crap off them before you ignite them when you turn them on again. Take you time doing the mod so you can do it as cleanlyas possible. I've done it about 4 times now and I never doit perfectly, but it has gottem cleaner every time. The car looks so much better with this mod done. Good Luck!
